Barbara Stubbs, EA joins ABAPC INC following 34 years of successful business ownership and operation. As a small business owner she developed a fascination with IRS tax law, particularly pertaining to self-employed and small businesses. It was in the midst of preparing her own taxes that she became determined to learn and apply the tax code to her advantage. Little did she expect to develop such a love for taxation and tax law.
Barbara has a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Illinois State University and she secured her Enrolled Agent Credentials in 2018. Barbara’s new found love with taxation and her personality led her to close her business and pursue a career in taxation to help others – individuals, partnerships, and corporations – take every advantage offered them, via deductions and planning, to pay the IRS only what is due, and not a penny more. And in matters of trouble with the IRS, Barbara has helped numerous clients win cases with IRS letters and Penalty Abatements. She has provided tax reduction planning since 2015 to assist clients minimize tax liability as part of her larger objective of helping them build their life plan. Included in Barbara’s background is 6 years of volunteer tax preparation service through VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) supporting low-income families with pro-bono tax preparation. As valuable as an Enrolled Agent is when dealing with the IRS, it is not a full-time job in and of itself. Barbara realized she needed to expand into the wider field of accounting if she was going to be able to effectively help others. In order to expand her knowledge of accounting she has completed 3 semesters of accounting and became a QuickBooks Online Pro-advisor.
